Bergen Earns Entrance Into the Final Four

Paramus, NJ- Bergen continues their successful season after defeating Middlesex CC in the Second Round of the 2018 Region XIX Women's Basketball Tournament.  They won by a large margin of 80-52 and will go on to play in the Region XIX Final Four, beginning with the semi-final game again Rowan College at Gloucester County.  The semi-final game will be played on Saturday, March 3rd at 12pm in Northampton Community College, in Bethlehem, PA.

Bergen had a big game versus Middlesex, Middlesex who split with Bergen during the regular season, challenged Bergen early thought the second period.   Middlesex was not able to keep up and Bergen pulled away before the end of the half.  Bergen's Cherie Smedile, had an outstanding game scoring 33 points with 8 assists, 3 steals and continuing to add points as the all-time leading scorer for the Bulldogs.  Freshman, Anira Calamia, continues her dominance on the boards and finished the game with 15 Rebounds and 12 points scored.   Freshman, Allison Bryan, also stepped up for the Bulldogs scoring a season high 15 points, 10 rebounds, 2 STL and 2 BLK.

Bergen will have an opportunity to be in the finals on Sunday, March 4th if they can get past the #1 seeded RCGC.  Go Bulldogs!!!
